Artist Residency Opening Reception

ABOUT THE EVENT

We are excited to invite you to the opening of our resident art exhibit in the new Blush Gallery at Blush Cowork. The exhibit will feature eight original paintings by award-winning local artist Heather Eck.

The opening will be on Thursday, January 26, from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. We will have wine and appetizers, and you will have a chance to meet and talk with the artist. Please join us for this delightful event.

This exhibition and residency will run from January 3rd through March. Learn more about the work and Heather with an Artist Talk on Wednesday, February 15th, at 9:30 a.m., followed by an opportunity for a live, 1:1 color reading and keepsake painting session with Heather.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Heather Eck creates paintings that visualize healing. Gifted in intuiting messages that come through communion with God, these messages often appear on the canvas as colors, symbols, and shapes.

“Each painting I create is intended for a specific person or space, whether I get to know them through the commission process or I create a painting that will eventually find them serendipitously.

My life’s journey has been about recognizing the need to preserve my individuality and is centered around the desire to be joyful and feel spiritually whole. I hope my paintings bring others also to feel these things. My paintings are meant to divinely heal through love and remind viewers of their unique personal strength and the power of transformational healing.”

ABOUT BLUSH

Blush is the first women-focused coworking space with childcare in Cary, NC.

We wanted to create a coworking space with a few key differences. We are open to all, but want to focus on creating a safe and welcoming space for women to work, collaborate, achieve and flourish. Traditional coworking spaces are generally located in city centers or downtown areas, but we chose to focus on coming to our members and making it easy to drop in, whether it’s just you, your team, or even with children in tow. We believe that childcare should not be a luxury, and realize what a huge factor reliable, safe childcare plays in any parent’s potential to be productive or creative.

Rebel, Rebel

Einar Wegener, better known as Lili Elbe, was a gender rebel. A known Danish painter and transgender woman, she was among the early recipients of sex reassignment surgery, transitioning in 1930. Today, transgender people continue to face discrimination, violence, and civil rights threats. Lili is part of an emerging body of work featuring creative, rebellious voices from the past. These paintings are a conversation about vulnerability, courage, great power, and an acknowledgment of their timeless human histories that continue to influence the stories we're creating today.
